Il rétablit ce déplacement historiographique dans la controverse qui oppose J. Foa à l’interprétation jusque-là dominante, celle proposée par Denis Couzet, et souligne les potentiels effets à longue distance de la dispute en rappelant les nombreux usages dont le « modèle Crouzet » a fait l’objet parmi les spécialistes des violences de masse contemporaines. Il revient enfin sur les usages de l’anachronisme et de la comparaison promus par les deux auteurs. |

| Summary, etc. | Presenting a discussion on the recent works of Jérémie Foa, this article shows how the author attempts to de-confessionalise the study of the French Wars of Religion. It re-establishes this historiographical shift in the controversy that opposes J. Foa to the hitherto dominant interpretation, namely that proposed by Denis Couzet, and underlines the potential far- reaching impacts of the dispute by reminding us of the numerous uses that have been made of the “Crouzet model” among specialists of contemporary mass violence. Finally, it looks at the uses of anachronism and comparison promoted by the two authors. |
