| Summary, etc. | This 1904 text is rich because it evokes innovations such as “the employment office,” “the mutual aid association,” and access to labor law and labor union information. It also presents a network throughout the whole of France, which welcomed as best it could girls from thirteen years of age. The home economics question this text refers to is interesting for at least three different reasons: first, because it gives the girls the possibility to continue their education after school; second, because it brings together young girls from the working and wealthy classes in the form of voluntary work and tutoring; and finally, because of the coherence of the entire “professional and social” program. |
