520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. This exploratory investigation looks at the educational and professional paths of medical-psychological assistants. While the image of these professionals has changed, they are still often described using stereotyped female personality traits. Here, twelve female and three male professional AMPs speak about the motivations behind their professional choice. For the men, this was not their first choice of job, which follows one or several school and/or professional shifts after an initial route into the technical domain. The dynamics are similar for half of the women, only a quarter of whom turned initially to social work. We question the mechanisms leading the professionals to choose this job within the context of studies on “feminine” jobs in the social sector.
