| Summary, etc. | The number of senior residences that target active or frail retirees is continuing to increase. Representing an alternative to standard or specialized housing, senior residences must now integrate digital solutions as a determining factor of prevention regarding healthcare, security and social connections, showcasing these solutions as a key aspect of what they offer. Based on pluridisciplinary interviews with residents and professionals from a senior residence that highlights its digital component, this study on the one hand observes a gap between the identified sociological target and the genuine target, and on the other hand analyzes the real but limited use of the residence’s digital solutions. Recommendations are then made regarding the integration of technological solutions within senior residences. The analysis reveals the difficulty of a truly personalized use, adjusted to the residents’ expectations and in connection with the public service offering of the location of the residence. However, the analysis also reveals the residents’ real expectations in terms of security, comfort, social connections and service opportunities, and the need for improvement in all these areas. |
