Summary, etc. This article studies a specific category of ‘nature workers’ and ‘nature related professions’ present in the high valleys of the French Alps: the Territorial Forest Technicians (TFT) of the Office National des Forêts (ONF). Unlike most other mountain nature professionals, the environmental imperative they have to face is associated with a production imperative. Based on a survey carried out in Haute-Maurienne (Savoie), this article studies how the territorialisation of the TFT profession helps address sustainability challenges facing forested areas undergoing territorial transitions. This process of territorialisation primarily reshapes the professional identities and practices of public forestry workers.
