| Summary, etc. | This paper aims to examine the involvement of the University of Yaoundé I in the valorization of the wetlands on its campus. In order to understand the university’s role in protecting these fragile marshlands, the central research question guiding this study is: "How is the University of Yaoundé I involved in the preservation of the wetlands on its site?" From a methodological standpoint, the study is grounded in Ulrich Beck’s Risk Society theory, which helped identify the key issues related to the wetlands. Technically, the research is based on documentary analysis and field surveys conducted on the study site. The first key finding reveals that the valorization of the wetlands at the University of Yaoundé I is achieved through ecological restoration, taking into account their composition, structure, dynamics, and ecological functions. The second finding shows that sustainable development of these wetlands depends on their full protection. |

| Summary, etc. | Cette recherche vise à interroger l’implication de l’université de Yaoundé 1 dans la valorisation des marécages de son site. En effet, pour comprendre l’implication de cette institution universitaire dans la protection des marécages fragiles, la question centrale qui sert de fil conducteur à cette étude est celle de savoir : « Comment l’université de Yaoundé 1 s’implique-t-elle dans la préservation des marécages de son site ? » Au plan méthodologique, cette étude s’est appuyée sur la théorie de la société du risque d’Ulrich Beck qui a permis d’identifier les enjeux des marécages. Au plan technique, l’étude repose sur la recherche documentaire et les enquêtés réalisées sur le site d’étude. A l’issue de cette étude, le premier résultat montre que la valorisation des marécages de l’université de Yaoundé 1 passe par la restauration écologique, à travers sa composition, sa structure, sa dynamique et ses fonctions écologiques. Le second résultat décèle que la mise en valeur durable passe par la protection intégrale de ces marécages. |
