| Summary, etc. | Devant les difficultés du psychiatre burkinabé formé dans les écoles occidentales à prendre en charge des patients présentant des hallucinations, nous avons fait une étude sur le contexte culturel des hallucinations chez les Moose. Nous avons réalisé des entretiens semi-structurés avec 43 accompagnants de patients hospitalisés présentant des hallucinations, 22 guérisseurs traditionnels et 19 personnes ressources (sages du village). Pour les Moose, l’hallucination est un symptôme non pathologique. Il est considéré chez eux comme un pouvoir mystique et n’est jamais traité. Il est alors important que les psychiatres modernes prennent en considération le sens culturel de certains symptômes. |

| Summary, etc. | In front of the difficulties we had to treat patients with hallucinations, we carried out a study of cultural context of hallucinations among the moose. We interviewed 43 patient-accompagnants, 22 traditional therapists and 19 ressource persons. Moose consider hallucinations as a non pathological symptom, it’s culturally admited like a mystic power. So it’s never treated. Modern therapists in Africa must pay attention to the cultural symbolism and meaning of hallucinations. |
