| Summary, etc. | Le présent article vise à explorer la recherche d’informations des cadres dirigeants d’une entreprise française de télécommunications en contexte de transformation numérique. Nous appuyant sur les méthodologies de la construction de sens ( sense-making) et de la théorisation enracinée ( grounded theory), nous analysons les pratiques de recherche d’informations des cadres dirigeants et les sources d’informations utilisées par ce groupe d’acteurs. Les résultats de notre étude empirique nous permettent de distinguer deux catégories principales de sources d’informations auxquelles ces acteurs font appel dans leurs activités quotidiennes : des sources humaines et des sources non humaines. Plusieurs facteurs influençant le processus de recherche et le choix des sources d’informations sont identifiés et, notamment, la temporalité qui représente une contrainte majeure. L’étude montre que l’activité informationnelle, et notamment la recherche d’informations, deviennent plus complexes dans un environnement numérique se caractérisant par une multiplication des dispositifs et sources d’informations, une diversité des pratiques informationnelles et une gestion de l’information en « silos ». |

| Summary, etc. | This paper explores the information seeking behaviour and the information sources of top managers in the context of a large French telecommunications company’s digital transformation. Our qualitative research was conducted using sense-making methodology and grounded-theory. We identify two main categories of information sources used by top managers in their daily activities: human and non-human sources of information. Several factors influence information seeking and source selection. Among all factors, time is one of the main constraints. The results of our study show that information activity and, more specifically, information seeking become more complex in a digital environment characterized by the use of numerous technical devices as well as a multiplication of available sources of information, a diversity of information behaviours, and information silos. |
