| Summary, etc. | La malnutrition demeure toujours une cause importante de mortalité dans les pays en voie de développement. Le rôle des facteurs psychosociaux et affectifs intervenant dans sa genèse reste encore peu étudié. Cela handicape sa prise en charge globale. Ce travail avait pour but d’étudier les aspects psychosociaux et affectifs intervenant dans la survenue de la malnutrition de l’enfant au Nord du Bénin. II s’agit d’une étude transversale et descriptive réalisée dans trois centres de récupération nutritionnelle. Elle a inclus tous les enfants malnutris aigus de moins de cinq ans admis dans ces centres durant la période de Février à Juillet 2009. A travers un entretien avec les mères et une observation à domicile portant sur le type de relations entre les enfants et leurs mères, les données ont été collectées. Un total de 130 cas d’enfants malnutris ont été enregistrés. Différents facteurs ont été répertoriés intervenant dans la genèse da la malnutrition. |

| Summary, etc. | Malnutrition remains a major cause of mortality in developing countries. The role of psychosocial and emotional factors involved in its genesis remains poorly studied. This hampers its overall management. This work aimed to investigate the psychosocial and emotional aspects involved in the occurrence of child malnutrition in northern Benin. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in three nutritional recovery centers. It included all acute malnourished children under five years admitted to these centers during the period from February to July 2009. Through an interview with mothers and observation at home on the type of relationships between children and their mothers, the data were collected. A total of 130 cases of malnourished children were recorded. Various factors have been identified involved in the genesis of the malnutrition. |
