| Summary, etc. | Grâce à une analyse critique du discours sur l’attentat de la mosquée de Québec en 2017, cet article montre le rôle central des médias dans la construction du tragique dans les situations de crises. Nous examinons comment des discours fatalistes, réalistes, de suspense, relativistes ou orientés vers le changement façonnent la perception de l’événement et créent un sentiment d’inévitabilité pouvant inciter à l’action. Nous proposons un modèle conceptuel de cette dynamique discursive et soulignons que la dimension tragique peut aussi justifier des mesures sécuritaires, influençant perceptions publiques et réponses institutionnelles. |

| Summary, etc. | Through a critical discourse analysis of the 2017 Quebec mosque attack, this article highlights the central role of the media in constructing the tragic in crisis situations. We examine how fatalistic, realistic, suspenseful, relativistic, or change-oriented discourses shape perceptions of the event, creating a sense of inevitability that can prompt action. We propose a conceptual model of this discursive dynamic and emphasize that the tragic dimension can also justify security measures, influencing both public perception and institutional responses. |
