Depuis quarante ans, une issue à la domination sociale et culturelle que subissent les classes populaires se cherche dans le cinéma réaliste anglais. Que faire d’une ressource qui n’a plus cours quand elle continue à définir une identité sociale ? Comment devenir autre tout en demeurant soimême ? Quand la virilité ne trouve plus sa rémunération sur le marché du travail anglais, reste une issue, confusément élaborée ici : conjuguer la masculinité traditionnelle au féminin. |
