| Summary, etc. | Le 13 octobre 1935, les habitants de la ville Buenos Aires assistent stupéfaits à un spectacle inédit : le défilé d’environ cent mille citoyens venant de la province de Buenos Aires qui convergent vers la place de Mai, cœur de la ville de Buenos Aires, pour manifester leur soutien à Manuel Fresco, alors candidat du parti conservateur aux élections pour le poste de gouverneur. Dans ce contexte, la Marche sur Buenos Aires rend compte d’un changement notable de la façon dont le Parti conçoit la représentation politique. L’étude de cette grande mobilisation et du contexte dans lequel elle prend place permet de comprendre ce changement, à un moment où la province entre dans l’ère des mobilisations de masse. |

| Summary, etc. | The March on Buenos AiresThe people of Buenos Aires were stunned on 13 October, 1935, when they witnessed an unprecedented phenomenon: about 100,000 citizens from the province of Buenos Aires were gathered in the Plaza de Mayo, in the heart of Argentina’s capital, to show their support for Manuel Fresco, the Conservative Party’s gubernatorial candidate. In this context, the “March on Buenos Aires” reflected a significant change in the way that the Party viewed political representation. The study of this rally and the context in which it occurred allow us to understand this change, at the moment when the province of Buenos Aires entered the era of mass mobilisations. |
