The encounter with the caregiver mobilizes the latter’s attention in a way that we approach through a literary illustration borrowed from Maurice Blanchot. The omnipotence of the ego and its castration are at stake in the co-construction of the doctor-patient relationship, which often raises questions about the degree of adherence and the nature of consent to care. |
