Summary, etc. In this article, we report a case of a sixty-two-year-old patient admitted to the emergency department for a giant axillary mass with a progressive course. The patient had a history of traumatic injury that led to the amputation of the fifth finger, which had previously exhibited a small pigmented lesion of unknown origin. A diagnosis of giant melanoma was suspected given the patient’s history and the clinical and radiological aspects of the tumor. Complete excision of the lesion was performed, and the histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of malignant melanoma. This clinical case illustrates not only the aggressive, metastatic character of malignant melanoma, where the primary tumor may go unnoticed, but also the enormous size of the mass occupying the entire left axilla, requiring aggressive surgery.
