520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Providing care to persons with cancer is accompanied by several psychiatric symptoms. We conducted this study to assess the level of anxiety, depression, and sense of burden in 121 caregivers of cancer patients, and to determine the associated factors. Our results showed that according to the HAD scale, 59.5% of caregivers had a definite anxious state and 57% had a definite depressive state. According to the ZARIT scale, 67.7% of caregivers had a feeling of moderate to severe burden. The analytical study established a statistically significant association between caregiver anxiety and female gender and the presence of a caregiver’s medical history, between depression and degree of burden, and between burden and the age of onset of cancer. Early identification of these factors would make it possible to target caregivers at risk, likely to benefit from special attention.
