Summary, etc. Theoretical and clinical studies on psychotic disorders in children bring to the fore important distortions of the development of narcissism in its most fundamental form. This paper illustrates and discusses the avatars of its unfolding, necessarily thought of as part of a dynamic process, using multiple theoretical elements (especially Francis Pasche’s concept of anti-narcissism and André Green’s contributions to the topic). It is also put into perspective with an analysis of what is at stake in the object relation that shapes or takes apart the unfolding of the very foundation of the psyche. In addition, the impact of what is at stake on the therapist’s counter-transference and on his or her own narcissism is taken into account (from the study of a six-year-old child treated using a psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy) Locating this impact and transforming it in a mutative way can support the process of change and release.
