520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. In Tahiti’s urban areas, many skills – or “savoir-faire” – used in the past are no longer useful. However, these knowledges are not necessarily lost, they are passed on through new perspectives. One of those is the Heiva i Tahiti, the biggest competition of Polynesian dance, which allows some of those knowledges, encompassing aspects about mythology, language or environment, to continue to exist thanks to the actual interest for the Tahitian dances. The author proposes through this paper to examine how the ‘ori tahiti allows these knowledges to have a place in the life of those who live in the actual urban areas. It will therefore be a question of observing modalities of transmission taking place today.
