Summary, etc. Cultural countertransference is a concept that emphasizes the sociocultural dimension of countertransference, and therefore its collective dimension. In this text, we present the various forms that cultural countertransference can take for clinicians facing therapeutic impasses when working with immigrant families. In order to do so, we analyze five clinical cases presented in the context of transcultural and interinstitutional case discussion seminars led in Montreal, Canada. We then examine the possible role of these seminars in the transformation of this countertransference and in the elaboration of strategies to revive or support the therapeutic process. The results indicate that transcultural and interinstitutional case discussion seminars facilitate the work on clinicians’ collective representations and that this group work makes it possible to contain and sometimes overcome certain situations of therapeutic failure.
