| Summary, etc. | Les origines de la vie et la vie extraterrestre sont aux fondements de grandes questions scientifiques et sociétales, mais aussi de grandes explorations. Cependant, leur traitement médiatique reste un terrain inexploré dans la recherche sur la médiatisation des sciences. Cet article étudie la « mise en média » des origines de la vie dans l’audiovisuel français et francophone de 1959 à 2018. Il se fonde sur l’analyse statistique et sémiotique de deux corpus de productions vidéo correspondant à 120 programmes de télévision et 134 vidéos diffusées sur YouTube. Les résultats montrent que cette question liée à l’actualité scientifique est présente dans les médias depuis près de soixante ans. D’un média traditionnel à une plateforme d’hébergement vidéo, son traitement perdure (vulgarisation scientifique), mais témoigne aussi de mutations (disséminations des formes médiatiques, multiplication des acteurs/producteurs de contenus ; contre-récits). |

| Summary, etc. | The origins of life and extraterrestrial life are at the basis of major scientific and societal questions, but also of major explorations. However, their media treatment remains an unexplored field in research on the mediatisation of science. This article studies the mediatisation of the origins of life in French and Francophone audiovisual media from 1959 to 2018. It is based on the statistical and semiotic analysis of two corpora of video productions corresponding to 120 television programmes and 134 videos broadcast on YouTube. The results show that this issue related to scientific news has been present in the media for almost 60 years. From a traditional media to a video hosting platform, its treatment continues (popularisation of science), but also shows mutations (dissemination of media forms, multiplication of actors/content producers ; counter-narrative). |
