| Summary, etc. | Cet article s’intéresse aux pratiques d’innovation ouverte des PME localisées dans des villes moyennes. Il interroge particulièrement le caractère intentionnel de ces pratiques ainsi que les formes partenariales mobilisées dans ces innovations à travers une étude de cas de 14 innovations ouvertes développées par 10 PME agroalimentaires localisées dans des villes moyennes de la région Occitanie. Les caractéristiques des PME et le fait d’être implanté dans une ville moyenne influencent les processus d’innovation. Ces innovations, de produits et de procédés, sont souvent incrémentales et réalisées dans le but de répondre à la demande. Le rôle de l’entrepreneur semble également essentiel dans l’émergence de ces processus. Notre analyse montre que ces PME cherchent à accéder à une variété connexe en collaborant notamment avec la recherche publique. Elle met évidence le rôle essentiel des proximités sociale et géographique temporaires dans l’accès aux ressources externes.Codes JEL : O31, R11 |

| Summary, etc. | This article focuses on open innovation practices of SMEs located in small cities. It deals particularly the purpose character of these practices, but also the partnerships which are mobilized in these innovations through a case study of 14 open innovations developed by 10 agrifood SMEs located in small cities of south-west France. The SMEs’ characteristics and the location in a small city influence the openness of the innovation processes. These product and process innovations are often incremental and oriented towards the demand. The entrepreneur plays an important role in the emergence of these processes. Our analysis shows that these SMEs are looking for a related variety by collaborating, in particular with public research entities. It also highlights the essential role of social and geographic temporary proximities in order to access to external resources.Codes JEL: O31, R11 |
