Summary, etc. | This research focuses on the contributions of using a mobile app as part of a museum experience. We highlight the knowledge accumulated by visitors and the mental escapism induced by the use of the museum app. An empirical study was conducted among visitors to the National Gallery in London. The results show that the content and the visual attractiveness of the mobile app increases visitors’ attention and their cognitive commitment. The distortion of perceived time plays a key role in this process, since it mediates the link between the content of the app and the experience of mental escapism. |
