| Summary, etc. | Cette étude examine les pratiques communicationnelles de l’institution acadienne UNI Coopération financière lors d’une crise qui a éclaté en 2023. Nous nous penchons sur le rôle et le choix des porte-paroles (Swarte, 2021 ; Damayanti et al., 2018). En mobilisant l’approche de la communication constitutive des organisations (Cooren et al., 2017), nous montrons que les porte-paroles ne sont pas que de simples émetteurs de messages. Par leurs paroles, gestes, silences, ils sont plutôt des dispositifs constitutifs de l’organisation. Chez UNI, l’absence de porte-paroles et l’usage de messages génériques ont fragilisé les liens entre le public et la coopérative, laissant place à une reconfiguration négative de la crise et de l’institution. |

| Summary, etc. | This study examines the communication practices of the Acadian institution UNI Financial Cooperation during a crisis that broke out in 2023. We focus on the role and selection of spokespersons (Swarte, 2021; Damayanti et al., 2018). Drawing on the constitutive communication of organizations approach (Cooren et al., 2017), we show that spokespersons are not merely message transmitters. Through their words, gestures, and silences, they function as constitutive components of the organization. At UNI, the absence of clear spokespersons and the use of generic messages weakened the relationship between the public and the cooperative, paving the way for a negative reconfiguration of both the crisis and the institution. |
