| Summary, etc. | The literature on entrepreneurial intention has mostly examined the factors capable of predicting entrepreneurial action, and rarely those that actually led to it. This research therefore focuses on the factors that favored the transition to entrepreneurial action, in the specific context of Sub-Saharan Africa, and within the specific sector of agriculture. Using two embedded case studies, and within a comprehensive approach, we examine the ex-post influence of the 3 components of the theory of planned behavior on the entrepreneurial decision. Social norms are the least influential component, due to the lack of positive recognition for entrepreneurs and agriculture. Personal attitude, a favorable component, highlights the roles of family and academic education. Finally, the behavioral control component positively influences the transition to actio through preparation and extended stay in the informal mode, which turns out to be a genuine strategic choice. |

| Summary, etc. | La littérature sur l’intention entrepreneuriale a majoritairement examiné les facteurs capables de prédire l’acte entrepreneurial, et rarement à ceux y ayant réellement conduit. Cette recherche se penche alors sur l’étude des facteurs ayant réellement favorisé le passage à l’acte entrepreneurial, dans le contexte spécifique de l’Afrique subsaharienne, et dans le secteur spécifique de l’agriculture. Au moyen de deux études de cas encastrées nous examinons dans une démarche compréhensive, l’influence a posteriori, des 3 composantes de la théorie du comportement planifié sur le déclenchement de l’acte entrepreneurial. Les normes sociales sont la composante la moins influente, faute d’une valorisation positive des entrepreneurs et de l’agriculture. L’attitude personnelle, composante favorable, met en évidence les rôles de l’entourage et de la formation académique. Enfin, la composante contrôle comportemental influence positivement le passage à l’acte à travers la préparation ainsi que le maintien prolongé dans l’informel, qui se révèle comme un véritable choix stratégique. |
