Summary, etc. During the 1960s, Latin America witnessed the creation of numerous political movements that advocated for armed struggle. This phenomenon has often been interpreted as a direct effect of the Cuban Revolution, either analyzed in terms of revolutionary contagion or as a mimesis of the “Cuban model.” Based on the study of the Chilean “new left” and its relations with Cuba, this article aims at challenging this argument.
