| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | Playing to dad or mom is an universal symbolic game. Everybody imagines a number of children to have later. Objective : To value the existence of tie between the motherhood as it draws in the imaginary and in the reality. Method : prospective, descriptive and analytic survey concerned 70 pregnant women met in 2 motherhoods in Cotonou, between April and May 2005. Results : 82,8% had between 18 and 35 years ; 74,3% had liberal profession, were dealers or commercial, or middle managers. 11,4%, knew child’s death. 25,7% had reduced the imagined child’s number ; the same percentage, had increased it. No woman having had an abortion increased the imagined number. Any pregnant woman investigated declared to have imagined to stay without child ; 1,4% imagined to have only one child, against 2,9% that really had it. Having two children was proved to be steady as well in imaginary that in the reality. 38,6% declared a imaginary parity of 4 children, against 30% of real parity. An interrelationship exists between ages, on the one hand, the profession on the other hand, and the decision of a superior child’s number in relation to the imagined number. Discussion-conclusion: Imaginary parity and real parity constitute some data which overlap solidly themselves and are also under psychological, biologic, economic, and sociological influence and cultural realities. |
