| Summary, etc. | Véritable désastre humanitaire d’ampleur historique. Le phénomène VIH/SIDA pose la problématique de la révélation de la séropositivité au VIH par les personnes vivant avec le VIH (PVVIH) elles-mêmes. Cette étude prospective transversale à la fois descriptive et analytique qui s’est déroulée au Centre de prise en charge des personnes vivant avec le VIH de l’organisation non gouvernementale (ONG) RACINES à Cotonou, vise à déterminer les impacts psychologiques et sociologiques de la révélation ou non de la séropositivité au VIH sur les PVVIH et l’entourage. Il ressort, au terme de l’étude, que l’attitude compréhensive reste l’impact social le plus important lors de la révélation au (x) conjoint (es) (67,6 %). Le soutien moral ou spirituel (78 %), l’indifférence (51,2 %) et le rejet (7,9 %) sont les réactions des confidents. Les rapports sexuels non protégés représentent 70 % des comportements sexuels des patients n’ayant pas révélé leur séropositivité. 40,3 % des PVVIH de la population d’étude sont anxieuses et celles qui ont révélé leur séropositivité sont moins anxieuses (25,7 %). 78,4 % des PVVIH qui ont révélé leur séropositivité sont déprimées. La moitié des enfants mineurs informaés de la séropositivité de leurs parents est triste, 22,7 % ont éprouvé de la peur. |

| Summary, etc. | Real humanitary disaster of historical scale. The phenomen HIV/AIDS put down the problematic of HIV positive revelation by the people living with HIV themselves. This prospective and transversal study at the same time descriptive and analytic which has occurred at centre. Of minimun fare of people living with HIV of non governmental organisation RACINES at Cotonou, aims to determine the psychological and sociological impact of the revelation or not of HIV positive upon people living with HIV and the entourage. It stands out at the end of the study that comprehensible attitude remaines the most important social impact during the revelation to husband(s) and wife/wives (67,6 %). Moral or spiritual support (78 %), indifference (51,2 %) and rejection (7,9 %) are confidants’reations. Sexual intercourses without protection represent 70 % of sexual behaviour of patients not having reveled their HIV positive status. 40,3 % of people living with HIV of the studied population are anxious and those who have reveled their HIV positive status are less anxious (25,7 %). 78 % of people who have reveled their HIV positive status are depressed. Half of minor children informed about their parents’HIV positive status would be sad, 22,7 % would have been frightened. |
