| Summary, etc. | In an interview, Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett, chief curator of the core exhibition at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, proposes a broad overview of the museographic choices in comparison with other similar museums. The increase in the Jewish population at a time when the Polish state did not exist (1795-1918) and the mass emigration that took place before 1918 require a narrative that cannot be state-centered. The same is true for the Holocaust. And to continue this narrative beyond 1945 entails an original perspective on the geography of Jews and their cultures over time—a perspective that should be further refined in the coming years. |
