| Summary, etc. | Using data from in-depth interviews with Russian citizens in 2022 and digital ethnography, we explore the ways and meanings of referring to cultural patterns and cultural practices in a crisis, as well as the cultural repertoire of these references. In line with grounded theory strategy, the following procedures have been identified: 1) culture as a way of living through the crisis in escapism and the search for meaning, 2) culture as an explanation of what is happening through scholarly-sounding rationalization, a fictionalized past, and stories of heroism and adventure, and 3) culture as resistance, demonstration of solidarity, and position formation. |

| Summary, etc. | Cette note, qui s’appuie sur des entretiens approfondis avec des citoyens russes en 2022 et sur une ethnographie numérique, explore les manières dont on se réfère à des modèles et à des pratiques culturels dans une situation de crise, ainsi que le répertoire culturel qui sous-tend ces références. Dans une stratégie de théorie ancrée, on a pu identifier trois modalités de référence : 1) la culture comme moyen de vivre la situation de crise dans l’évasion et la quête de sens, 2) la culture comme explication de ce qui se passe à travers le savoir scientifique, les fictions sur le passé ou les récits d’héroïsme et d’aventure, 3) la culture comme résistance, manifestation de solidarité et prise de conscience. |
