| Summary, etc. | El auge de los populismos de extrema derecha en el último tiempo amerita una indagación acerca de las características de la ideología reaccionaria. Una forma de aproximarse a esta es a través del pensamiento de sus principales autores. Nicolás Gómez Dávila es el mejor representante del pensamiento reaccionario en la filosofía latinoamericana, de modo que, a partir del análisis de algunos de sus escritos y siguiendo la propuesta de Richard Shorten para identificar lo reaccionario con base en tres pilares retóricos : decadencia (logos), conspiración (ethos) e indignación (pathos), este artículo enfatiza algunas características propias de la ideología reaccionaria que la distinguen del conservadurismo, ilustrando esas diferencias con la retórica de algunos líderes reaccionarios que antecedieron a Nicolás Gómez Dávila en la Colombia del siglo XX. |

| Summary, etc. | The recent political upheavals caused by the far-Right populisms deserve a close examination of the main traits of reactionary ideology. Studying the thought of reactionary writers is a suitable way to understand this ideology. Nicolás Gómez Dávila is considered the most important reactionary thinker in the Latin-American philosophy milieu. Scrutinizing some of his writings through the lenses of Richard Shorten’s proposal, id est, using three rhetorical pillars: decadency (logos), conspiracy (ethos) and indignation (pathos), this article emphasizes some of the reactionary ideology’s characteristics which, in turn, tell us about the differences between reaction and conservatism. Those differences are exemplified by the rhetoric of some reactionary leaders who predate Nicolás Gómez Dávila in the twenty-century Colombia. |
