Le témoignage de huit d’entre-eux en 1679 permet de retracer leur évolution depuis la décennie 1640 et de montrer avec quelques documents des années 1681-1691 la lutte qui vit s’affronter le magistrat local et l’amirauté pour la maîtrise de ce métier. |

The testimonies of eight of these carpenters in 1679 enable us to reconstruct their evolution after the 1640s and, once complemented with documents from the years 1681-1691, to highlight the fight that opposed the local magistrate and the admiralty over the control of that trade. |
