| Summary, etc. | Par leurs promesses en termes de capacités d’exploration de contenus, d’extraction et de synthèse, les IA génératives (IAG) suscitent l’intérêt des professionnels de l’information, mais aussi de nombreux questionnements, en particulier lorsqu’il s’agit de l’automatisation de résumés d’articles scientifiques. Cet article présente une expérimentation menée au sein d’un centre documentaire pour tester et évaluer leurs potentialités. Nous avons d’abord clarifié les enjeux juridiques liés à l’utilisation de ces technologies, puis notre recherche s’est attachée à comprendre l’apport spécifique des IAG, eu égard aux techniques d’automatisation existantes, et à repérer les différentes solutions (outils clés en main, agents conversationnels). Nous nous sommes enfin intéressés à la question de l’évaluation des résumés obtenus. L’outil méthodologique dit « preuve de concept » (POC) confirme la faisabilité technique de l’automatisation, avec une qualité satisfaisante de prime abord, tout en mettant en lumière la nécessité d’une vérification et d’une relecture attentives. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper presents an experiment conducted in a documentation center to test and evaluate the potential of generative AI (GenAI) for automating the summarization of scientific articles. We first clarified the legal issues related to the use of these technologies. Our research then focused on understanding the contribution of Gen AIs compared to existing automation techniques and on identifying different solutions (off-the-shelf tools, conversational agents). Finally, our study addressed the issue of evaluating the generated summaries. The proof of concept confirms the technical feasibility of automation with initially satisfactory quality but highlights the need for careful verification and review. |
