| Summary, etc. | Les organisations à but non lucratif (OBNL) sont très présentes et jouent un rôle de premier plan dans le développement socio-économique en Malaisie. À ce jour, plus de 70 000 organisations à but non lucratif y sont enregistrées. Nous observons que des problèmes de gouvernance se posent souvent au sein de ces organisations. Notre étude propose une contribution à la réflexion autour de la gouvernance de ce type d’organisations et permet d’envisager des réformes stratégiques et des changements de politique qui visent à renforcer leur gestion. Notre étude examine précisément la relation entre la gouvernance, la confiance du grand public et la performance des OBNL en Malaisie. Notre approche est quantitative avec 188 questionnaires distribués à un échantillon d’OBNL. L’analyse est effectuée avec le logiciel SPSS. L’étude montre qu’il existe une association positive modérée entre les exigences en matière d’information financière et la performance dans les OBNL en Malaisie. Elle révèle une faible association positive entre les responsabilités ou les caractéristiques du conseil d’administration et la performance dans les OBNL. En outre, la relation entre les parties prenantes et la performance des OBNL est également faible et positive. On peut donc conclure que les trois variables indépendantes, à savoir les responsabilités du conseil d’administration, les exigences en matière d’information financière et celles des parties prenantes, peuvent influencer de manière significative la performance des OBNL en Malaisie. Toutefois, les caractéristiques du conseil d’administration ne semblent pas avoir d’impact significatif sur la performance dans les OBNL en Malaisie. |

| Summary, etc. | Non-profit organizations (NPOs) have a strong presence and play a major role in socioeconomic development in Malaysia. To date, more than 70,000 NPOs are registered in Malaysia. At the same time, these organizations often face governance problems. Our study offers a contribution to the debate on the governance of this type of organization and provides an opportunity to consider strategic reforms and policy changes aimed at strengthening their management. Our study will specifically examine the relationship between governance, public trust, and NPO performance in Malaysia. Our approach is quantitative, with 188 questionnaires distributed to a sample of NPOs. Analysis was performed using SPSS software. The study shows that there is a moderate positive association between financial reporting requirements and NPO performance in Malaysia. However, the study found a weak positive association between board responsibilities or characteristics and NPO performance. In addition, the relationship between stakeholders and NPO performance is also weak and positive. Therefore, it can be concluded that the three independent variables, namely board responsibilities, financial reporting requirements, and stakeholders, can significantly influence the performance of NPOs in Malaysia, but board characteristics do not seem to have a significant impact on NPO performance. |
