520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The comparison of the fourth gospel with the rabbinical commentaries on Moses and the manna (as in the midrash Exodus Rabba, the Mekhilta de-Rabbi Ishmael and that de-Rabbi Shimon ben Yohaï) shows a background suitable for bringing out one of the points of the Johannine text: Moses himself gives testimony to Jesus (Jn 5,46-47) and leads to believing in the work of God in the one whom the Father has sent (Jn 6,29).
