Summary, etc. | This article discusses the surprising observations in clinical work with normal children in late-latency. The observations are the result of research concerning prognosis in pre-adolescence. A small sample of non-consulting ten-and eleven-year-old subjects were examined with the help of a psychological evaluation including the Rorschach and TAT projective tests. The results of this sample are unlike those in the usual normative models of projective clinicians concerning late-latency. The results, centered on the study of problem configurations and identifications, are presented and then followed by several hypotheses as to the observed differences. The question of the normal, the normative and the pathological responses at this age are rediscussed. |
