| Summary, etc. | In that intravenous heroin addiction nourishes the fantasy of being simultaneously “penetrating and penetrated”, and “active and passive”, it is a very interesting terrain for investigating the masculine and its unpredictable aspects. Freudian metapsychology, referring to the father, and based on masculine foundations of the paternal complex and the identifications which stem from it, can be used to enrich our reflection concerning the masculine in heroin-dependant men. Furthermore, the conceptions developed around the idea of “work on the feminine” (J. Schaeffer) or of a feminine linked to“passive orgasm” (J. André), unveil interesting paths to think about the psychic functioning of dependant men. The Rorschach and TAT projective tests offer precious information concerning the fragility of identificatory positions taken, as well as about the failure of oedipal conflictuality or the interiorisation of taboos. |
