520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Throughout a series of situations as experienced by some parents in maternity, this article points to the need to be concerned about parental collaboration, and not just making room for the father as an eternal "potential third" within the relationship between the mother and her baby. As they are more and more linked to their baby through emotional ties, nowadays fathers occupy a new role within the family economy. There is therefore a real risk of a rivalry forming between the parents over their child, and of them taking symmetrical as well as competitive positions: as professionals in the field of perinatality, it becomes our role not to reinforce this tendency and moreover to take care in consolidating, or even in facilitating, their cooperation in this very moment when the parental couple forms.
