Summary, etc. | While the historic and recently created social democratic parties do not manage to dominate on the Bulgarian political scene, the socialist Party (PSB, the successor of the former communist party) experiences a process of transformation named social democratization by some social scientist and political actors. Indeed, in the post-communist context, the social democracy became the main and legitimate way to express at the same moment the opposition to the communism and/or to the re-communisation, the proximity with the European left and the radicalism and the irreversibility of the transformation. However, the social democratic referent do not asserts at once or obviously. The identity conversion of the PSB is the product of fights between various conceptions of the new identity of the party. So, the reconstruction of the social democracy in Bulgaria is marked by the conversion of the Bulgarian socialist Party which manages thanks to its membership of the Socialist International and the Party of the European socialists and to its electoral performances to stand out as the main parliamentary representative of social-democratic family in Bulgaria. |
