Summary, etc. This paper reviews the main points of the numerous publications on the training of cognitive behavioral therapists. Based on the concept of the collaborative relationship, new insights on the problem of the therapeutic alliance are proposed. Cognitive behavioral therapists must have specific social skills and be aware of the influence their cognitions and emotions have on the therapeutic process. Specific attention is paid to works on the modification of the therapist’s emotions and cognitions throughout the supervision process, according to the principles of social learning and cognitive psychology. This paper proposes a threefold supervision and training model according to the levels of clinical difficulties.
