| Summary, etc. | Are there points of convergence between feminism and convivialism? These are undoubtedly two radical perspectives that start from the critique of individualism, hubris, and the unlimited capacity of the modern subject to reaffirm repressed values such as rapport and interdependence, care, and giving, and based on which we can sketch out “the contours of another possible world,” as we read in the Manifesto. That said, feminism emphasizes the faults of masculine and patriarchal culture and the need to unmask the most deeply hidden and seemingly natural forms of domination. This inevitably leads to the conflict between the sexes that is degenerating these days into resentful forms of male violence and that can put the necessary alliance between feminism and convivialism to the test. The legitimate demand for the recognition of women’s dignity must be met by a willingness on the part of men to break the patriarchal colonization of their own imaginaries and finally enter into the relationship on an equal footing, in order to succeed not only in “opposing each other without killing each other,” as Mauss would say, but in coming up with new kinds of alliances that are suited to a convivialist society. |
