Ses caractéristiques sont multiples. Elle englobe tous les aspects de la vie humaine, mais a indéniablement et de manière prépondérante un caractère économique. Dans son étape actuelle, elle est guidée par des critères capitalistes néo-libéraux. Les travailleurs, surtout les jeunes, sont victimes de ses conséquences catastrophiques. Ils réagissent en prônant une autre mondialisation. Est-ce envisageable ? Les membres actifs de la Jeunesse Ouvrière Chrétienne Internationale (JOCI) y croient. Par leurs actions, ils sont à contre-courant1. |

| Summary, etc. | Globalization is generally referred to as a contemporary phenomenon, but it has developed through various stages prior to our own times. History shows that it took hold progressively. The movement has multiple characteristics, and embraces all aspects of human life, though undeniably it is above all economic in character. In its current phase it is guided by neo-liberal capitalist criteria. Workers, particularly the young, are victims of its catastrophic consequences. Therefore they react by proposing an alternative globalization. Is such a thing possible ? The active members of the International Young Christian Workers (IYCW) believe it is. By their actions, they form a counter-current to prevailing trends. |
