| Summary, etc. | RésuméDans les pays riches, l’impératif de la sécurité nationale engendre, à leur arrivée, un tamisage des ressortissants étrangers et des migrants, sur base de stéréotypes ethniques et raciaux. Corollaire de la mondialisation, l’expansion de cette sécurité a comme contrepartie l’insécurité du travail des migrants fréquemment insérés dans le marché du travail via des activités précaires et informelles. Les pays en développement se configurent ainsi en celliers de talents bon marché rendant plus humaine et plus confortable la vie dans les sociétés dominantes. Dans le scénario de cette inégalité, le migrant est non seulement traité comme un travailleur déqualifié mais il est aussi considéré comme un ennemi politique. Dégradantes et injustes, ces réalités sont des conditions lamentables de la modernité. |

| Summary, etc. | In rich countries, the necessity of national security leads to a selection of foreign nationals and migrants at their arrival, on the basis of ethnic and racial stereotypes. The expansion of that security is a consequence of globalisation and has as a counterpart the insecurity of migrants who are frequently inserted in the work market through precarious and informal activities. Developing countries become that way a reserve of cheap talents that makes life in dominant societies more human and more comfortable. In the scenario of that inequity, the migrant is not only treated as a deskilled worker but also as a politic enemy. Degrading and unfair, these realities are the appalling conditions of modernity. |
