520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The presence of an interpreter in healthcare consultations means that they must be given a role in caring for and supporting migrant patients who speak little or no English. In fact, interpreters are not only involved in translating from one language to another, but they also experience psychological shifts that can compromise their emotional and intellectual abilities. In this paper, we propose an analysis of counter-transference in interpreters as an issue in the triadic relationship between patient, interpreter and professional. This analysis highlights a tension between the mixed identity of the interpreter, which is called into question by the clinical encounter and which allows them to consider themselves as a plural subject. This analysis also provides a better understanding of the issues involved in interpreting.
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc.
