| Summary, etc. | A form of resistance to the capitalist and liberal project of globalization, the expression “alternative globalization” has in the past few years come to play a large role in the media. This concept of resistance, developed in French-speaking Belgium, has now spread widely abroad. alternative globalization is presented as a synthetic concept, integrating the whole range of movements opposing capitalist globalization and its consequences. This perspective shares some elements with the notion of “inculturation”. In many respects, inculturation seems to us to go hand in hand with the concept of alternative globalization. Thus, despite the different contexts in which they emerged and are used, the two concepts nevertheless allow us to glimpse in miniature their underlying logic and common positions. |
