Summary, etc. The book The Joy of life is the outcome of a collaborative project initiated by the Pontifical Academy for Life on the occasion of the anniversary of Evangelium vitae, and encouraged by the synodal climate. In this work, we sought to propose a theological ethical framework capable of bringing together an attentive listening to the Word of God, the richness of Christian tradition, and consideration of current challenges. This text does not seek to offer an exhaustive study, but rather an example of shared, dialogical research, situated mainly in the European context, which may inspire other initiatives elsewhere. Here we present the origins of this project, its structure and main themes, as well as some aspects of its reception. We wish to demonstrate how this initiative contributes to the renewal of bioethics in the Catholic Church, linking it more closely to Scripture, theological anthropology and ecclesial discernment.
