520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. In Madagascar, the dairy production intended for marketing has developed over the past few decades within small diversified family farming on high plateaus. In 2009, following political events which caused the disappearance of a major actor in milk collecting and processing, the “milk crisis” affected the whole dairy industry, leading to significant restructuring. Using multi-year data from a rural observatory, this article examines the adaptation or resilience of small dairy farmers within a systemic approach which questions the country’s agricultural public policies.
