520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Adaptation strategies aim to reduce the vulnerability of living beings, ecosystems, infrastructures, and services that are exposed to climate hazards. Given the wide range of parameters to be taken into account, the different levels of exposure to climate hazards, and the specific threats faced by different regions, adaptation strategies must be adapted accordingly. Local authorities must therefore take measures that are tailored to the local context and the people living in the area concerned. There is thus a real need to co-construct adaptation strategies that combine scientific knowledge with local realities, through the development of participatory approaches that enrich the simplified analyses of models by promoting a better understanding of local opportunities and constraints. Analyzing the political and social strategies devised within public participatory arenas to mitigate the impact of climate change, this study focuses on the Climate Change Conference of the City of Lausanne, which, as things currently stand, does not appear to be fostering dynamic, interactive, and incremental solutions to climate-related problems.
