| Summary, etc. | Médée n’a pas toujours été infanticide alors que Jason n’a jamais pu tout à fait naître à lui-même. Leur rencontre, leur histoire commune, puis leur séparation ont fait l’objet de nombreuses relectures et réécritures à travers les siècles. C’est Euripide qui va finalement réduire Médée à son acte infanticide et, ce faisant, va faire disparaître Jason pour de bon dans l’opération. Médée devient l’allégorie funeste d’une question féminine qui oppose non seulement femme et mère, mais aussi femme et homme. Mais la saturation de l’espace par cette prétendue question féminine posée par le mythe de Médée ne mettrait-elle pas en exergue, au contraire, une question masculine qui peine à se laisser voir ? |

| Summary, etc. | Medea was not always infanticide while Jason was never completely able to be born on his own. Their meeting, their shared history, then their separation, have been the subject of numerous rereadings and rewritings over the centuries. It is Euripides who will finally reduce Medea to her infanticidal act, and, in doing so, will make Jason disappear for good in the process. Medea becomes the disastrous allegory of a feminine question which opposes not only woman and mother, but also woman and man. But, wouldn’t the saturation of space by this so-called feminine question posed by the myth of Medea highlight, on the contrary, a masculine question which struggles to be seen? |
