| Summary, etc. | Cet article interroge l'importation de pratiques de « Gestion des Ressources Humaines » (GRH) dans les universités à partir du cas britannique. La construction progressive d'une injonction à « moderniser » la gestion du personnel académique s'est accompagnée d’une large adoption d'outils standards issus du monde de l'entreprise. Si l'influence de ces outils est variable, l'essor de la GRH dans les universités britanniques engendre des effets d'ensemble sur la profession et les carrières académiques. Les pratiques de la GRH instituent en effet de nouvelles formes de contrôle du travail universitaire et génèrent de la division et de la différenciation au sein du groupe professionnel. |

| Summary, etc. | This article examines the diffusion of « Human Resources Management » (HRM) practices in British universities. Discourses promoting the « modernisation » of employment practices have been followed by the adoption of standard management tools coming from the business sector. These tools have not always had systematic effects, yet the rise of HRM has had global consequences on the conditions of academic profession. First, HRM practices enabled new forms of control over academic work and careers. Second, they intensified divisions and differentiation between academic workers. |

| Summary, etc. | Este artículo interroga la importación de prácticas de “Gestión de Recursos Humanos” (GRH) en las universidades a partir del caso británico. La construcción progresiva de una exhortación a “modernizar” la gestión del personal académico se acompañó con una amplia adopción de instrumentos estándar surgidos del mundo empresarial. Si bien la influencia de estos instrumentos es variable, el auge de la GRH en las universidades británicas genera efectos de conjunto sobre la profesión y las carreras académicas. Las prácticas de la GRH, en efecto, instituyen nuevas formas de control del trabajo universitario y generan divisiones y diferenciaciones dentro del grupo profesional. |

| Summary, etc. | In diesem Artikel wird die Einführung von Personalmanagement-Praktiken (Human Resources Management HRM) ausgehend vom britischen Fall hinterfragt. Die allmähliche Verwirklichung der Vorgabe, das Management der akademischen Lehrkräfte zu „modernisieren“, zog eine Übernahme der Standardinstrumente aus der Wirtschaft nach sich. Der Einfluss dieser Instrumente variiert zwar, jedoch hat die Verbreitung des HRM in den britischen Universitäten globale Auswirkungen auf akademische Berufe und Laufbahnen. Mit den HRM-Praktiken werden neue Arten der Kontrolle der Arbeit an den Universitäten eingeführt und Teilungen und Differenzierungen in der Berufsgruppe geschaffen. |
