| Summary, etc. |
| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | The Israeli Socialist Organization (ISO) is a small left-wing Israeli activist group, founded in 1962. The ISO is one of the first organized political movement, publicly expressing an opposition to the Zionist project in Israel. Known by the name of its newspaper, Matzpen, this organization faces a real «witch hunt» in the Israeli public sphere. Indeed, the activists from Matzpen directly attack the official institutions and myths at the heart of the Israeli State. Using the «boomerang pattern» proposed by Keck and Sikkink, the article studies the transnationalization of this movement as a strategy of exportation of the cause, in order to by-pass this hostile domestic context. It specifically studies this process in the United States, in Europe and in the Arab World, in a context of emergence of the «New Left» at the end of the 1960’s and the beginning of the 1970’s. |
