| Summary, etc. | Issu d’échanges avec des chercheurs en anthropologie autour du thème de la pensée archaïque individuelle et collective, cet article développe une perspective croisée entre les contenus mythiques rapportés par plusieurs ethnologues (P. Bidou, J. Galinier, B. Juillerat et P. Saurin) et celle de l’auteur sur les « mythes magico-sexuels » dans l’enfance (Mijolla-Mellor, S. de, 2002). La notion d’organe énigmatique apparaît comme un point de passage entre ces deux types de constructions mythiques permettant de revenir à ce qui, au-delà du discours, variable et sujet à évolution d’un récit à l’autre, en constitue le noyau central. Celui-ci est composé d’éléments, fermes et mobiles, concrets bien que non statiques, qui correspondent non pas à des archétypes mais à des expériences sensorielles et affectives qui accompagnent une interrogation sur l’origine et sur la fin, sur la vie et la mort du sujet. C’est la raison pour laquelle on ne peut les étudier sans se reporter à la singularité des mots et des images qui tentent de dire ces énigmes, qu’elle soit individuelle ou collective. |

| Summary, etc. | Enigmatic Organs and Mythical Constructions This article is the fruit of work carried out with anthropologists on the theme of individual and collective archaic thought and the article develops a double perspective on the myths reported on by several ethnologists (P. Bidou, J. Galinier, B. Juillerat and P. Saurin) and that of the author of ‘magic-cum-sexual myths’in children (S. de Mijolla-Mellor, 2002). The notion of the enigmatic organ appears as a crossing point between these two types of mythical construction that allows us to come back, as it is the pivot of these myths, to what is, beyond discourse, a variable entity and subject to change from one mythical tale to another. This pivot is composed of elements that are at once both stable and moving, concrete and non static and which correspond not only to archetypes but also to sensorial and affective experiences that are part and parcel of our basic questioning on our end, on the life and death of each subject. This is why these myths can only be studied by looking closely at the words and images that express the enigmas at the heart of each myth, whether the latter be individual or collective. |
